With the news of a b2b set between Skrillex and Jamie xx, LIDO Festival’s debut in London in June has gone from being expected to being necessary.
Even though it has happened before, them working together behind the decks is still pretty rare. It only happens when someone wants to do something different from the usual music event fare.
The show will happen at Victoria Park on June 7th as part of a set put together by Jamie xx. Along with his b2b with Nia Archives, his underground club idea “The Floor” will be shown, and avant-pop artists like Arca and Romy will play sets that same day.
In the past few years, Skrillex has been known to surprise crowds with unexpected b2b sets. For example, he has performed with Fred again… and Four Tet, headlining sold-out shows at Coachella and Madison Square Garden. Now that his long-awaited fourth album, F*CK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! ^3, is out, he’s riding the wave of a disruptive new phase.
