Tyler Creator to Release New Album This Monday, officially titled Don’t Tap the Glass, after days of cryptic teasing on social media and a bold onstage announcement.
During his energetic performance at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Friday night (July 18), the 34-year-old rapper and producer shouted out what appears to be the name of his ninth studio album — Don’t Tap the Glass. According to Variety, the reveal was followed by fans spotting an art installation outside the venue, which featured a muscular figure trapped in a transparent box — a possible reference to the album’s cover art.
In the days leading up to the concert, Tyler had been dropping vague clues about something brewing for July 21. His Instagram posts included a Louis Vuitton bag, a mannequin’s head, and a trumpet player in a vintage band outfit — all designed to stir curiosity. Then, on Saturday morning (July 19), he officially launched the website donttaptheglass.com, promoting the album along with exclusive merch like vinyl records, T-shirts, and hats bearing the project’s name.
The site also featured three mysterious, color-coded boxes with intriguing phrases:
-
A blue box that read, “Body movement. No sitting still.”
-
A yellow box urging, “Only speak in glory. Leave your baggage at home.”
-
And a red box with the title phrase, “Don’t tap the glass.”
The buzz around the album has only grown stronger since late June, when Tyler teamed up with Doechii to debut their Pharrell-produced track “Get Right” at the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2026 show in Paris. This marks the duo’s second collaboration after “Balloon” from Tyler’s 2024 album Chromakopia. It’s still unknown whether “Get Right” will be included in the new album.
Don’t Tap the Glass serves as the follow-up to Chromakopia, which topped the Billboard 200 for three weeks and included collaborations with big names like Doechii, Lil Wayne, GloRilla, Sexyy Red, and Daniel Caesar. Tyler is currently on the North American leg of his world tour, which will soon take him to Australia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines.
With the buzz building and the visuals already making a statement, Tyler Creator to Release New Album This Monday is more than a headline — it’s shaping up to be one of the most anticipated drops of the year.
