Michael Bibi is cancer-free, the renowned DJ and producer announced today.
Bibi has emphatically rung the bell at the Oak Cancer Centre, where he’d been battling CNS Lymphoma for six months. The rare cancer attacks the central nervous system and is categorized by malignant cells forming in the brain and spinal cord, per the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
In the wake of his diagnosis, the house music superstar and Solid Grooves founder had provided sporadic updates on his treatment. Bibi in June announced that the size of his tumor was reduced by 40% after his first round of cancer treatment was administered.
After completing his “main” treatment in late September, he made an emotional surprise appearance at Ibiza’s DC-10 to spin for the first time since his diagnosis.
“After 6months of fighting I leave hospital officially in remission with no cancer in my body… I’m still very tired, I’m on a lot of meds, my body hurts & my hairs all gone….but I’m excited to get home, process, heal & prepare for the future with you all,” Bibi wrote.
