Wilmington, North Carolina is entering a new chapter in its hip-hop story, and TRXP9K is helping shape it from both sides of the industry — as an artist and as a music executive.
As an artist, TRXP9K has built his identity around representing the 910, using his music to tell his story while developing a sound and image that are distinctly his own. But his ambitions extend beyond the microphone.
As the founder of Heartlessclub9k (HC9K) Entertainment, TRXP9K has stepped into the role of music executive, event organizer, promoter and artist advocate, creating opportunities for other independent artists while continuing to develop his own career.
That dual role has become a major part of his identity. He isn’t simply trying to make it out of Wilmington — he’s trying to build something in Wilmington.
Through HC9K, he has organized live showcases, connected artists with audiences and industry opportunities, and created a platform where emerging talent can perform, network and gain exposure. His work reflects a growing independent movement in the 910 where artists are taking more control over how their careers are developed.
At the same time, TRXP9K continues to push his own music and expand his reach through collaborations, including the “Trust Issues” remix featuring Kodak Black and 2FromTheVale — a collaboration that connects Wilmington with artists from outside the region.
For TRXP9K, being an artist and an executive aren’t separate identities. They’re two sides of the same vision.
The artist gives the movement a voice.
The executive helps create the platform.
And Wilmington provides the foundation.
TRXP9K represents a new generation of Wilmington Hip-Hop — artists who aren’t waiting for the industry to discover them, but are building the industry around them.
