JoJo Siwa found love on Celebrity Big Brother UK, even though she wasn’t seeking for it. The dancer is also talking about how she knew Chris Hughes was the one for her now that they are formally dating.

Siwa started off by stating that “serendipity is Christopher and I’s favorite word now” because “if you read the definition of it, it’s essentially finding love when you’re least looking for it,” in an interview with Gyles Brandreth on his Rosebud podcast, which was released on Thursday.

The former Dance Moms actress continued by describing how her relationship with the former Love Island star, which began in front of thousands of people during their time as co-stars of the 24th season of the reality show, is the epitome of serendipity. She said, “We just kind of bonded right away, and it started very much so as friends,” adding that her now-boyfriend’s pleasant scent and ability to give a “good hug” were the first things she noticed about him.

She went on to say, “Neither he nor I were looking to fall in love.” The two of us are laughing together and having a great time. The other one was the one who helped whenever one of us was struggling.

Despite the fact that Siwa and Hughes didn’t start dating until after Big Brother ended, their relationship is perhaps the most remembered aspect of this season. The “Karma” singer was dating Kath Ebbs when she was on the show, but they broke up at the TV show’s wrap party.

“I had all these realizations in my life, things that I wasn’t happy [with], and things that I was being OK with that I should never have been OK with,” Siwa seems to discuss the split with Brandreth on the podcast.

She continued, “I need to deal with things because I’m not happy, and once I left the house, I did so very quickly.” After some time, I came to the realization that I had begun to feel something for Christopher that I had never meant to, but I was unable to suppress it. And he was experiencing the same thing, so I’m one lucky girl.

The dancer told The Guardian newspaper, “It’s not platonic anymore, and it’s been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I’m absolutely head-over-heels for him and he’s the same way,” following Hughes’ sharing of a private selfie of him and Siwa cuddling in bed a few days prior to the interview.

In a subsequent interview with Billboard, Siwa talked passionately about her romance and shared with Tetris Kelly what it’s been like to manage a public relationship while identifying as LGBTQ. “People tear it apart, which makes it really difficult,” she said. “I know that’s just who I am, but I’ve dated males, gorgeous ladies, and gorgeous nonbinary people. I know for myself that I simply enjoy people.
